Post Doctoral Fellows

The Park Aging Mind Lab investigates the neural signature of healthy aging across the adult lifespan. As a Postdoctoral Research Associate in this lab, you will have access to data from the Dallas Lifespan Brain Study (DLBS) and the Synapse Project. Park Lab is a warm, supportive environment where people are encouraged to pursue their own individual research interests as well as participate collectively. PHD Students

Denise Park is always interested in having talented graduate students join her laboratory. She values students who are well rounded academically, have excellent writing skills, and a passion for understanding how the aging mind works. The Park Lab is a warm, supportive environment where people are encouraged to pursue their own individual research interests as well as participate collectively in the DLBS. Students best suited for the Park Lab should enjoy contributing to a team effort but also enjoy the autonomy of pursuing their own research interest.

Research Assistants and Technical Staff

Are you a college graduate with a background in neuroscience or psychology? Are you interested in being a part of cutting edge cognitive neuroscience research? Would you like to pursue a career in academia? Then joining the Park Lab as a research assistant might be the perfect next step.

The Park Lab conducts all of its research with human participants. Therefore as a research assistant you will regularly interact with participants and conduct research sessions. You will also have the opportunity to learn how to pre-process and analyze various types of data including cognitive data, MRI data and PET imaging data. In addition to experiencing the daily routines of a scientific environment, you will have the opportunity to hear talks from world-famous cognitive neuroscientists at the Center for Vital Longevity.

Undergraduate Volunteers

Are you an ambitious undergraduate student at UT Dallas School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences who wants to learn more about cognitive neuroscience? As an undergraduate in the Park Aging Mind Lab, you will be given the opportunity to work on project specific topics, learn data analysis and interact with members of the lab. In addition to experiencing the daily routines of a scientific environment, you will have the opportunity to hear talks from world-famous cognitive neuroscientists at the Center for Vital Longevity.

If you are interested in Joining the Park Lab as an undergraduate volunteer, check with Dr. Evan Smith to see if we have any openings at the moment. In order to qualify, you must have a 3.5 or higher GPA and two 5-hour blocks of time available per week to support the Park Aging Mind Lab in various projects. You will need reliable transportation to get to the Center for Vital Longevity. Your experience in the lab can be credited as a 3 credit-hour directed research course. Talk to your advisor to enroll.
