WHAT IS THE FACE DATABASE?
The Face Database was created at the University of Michigan by Meredith Minear and Denise Park (Minear & Park, 2004). Access to the database is restricted to academic researchers and the only authorized use of the data base is for research purposes.
All participants signed a release allowing their faces to be used in this manner. Faces may not be used for media events under any circumstances. If you publish a manuscript in a scientific journal that used the faces, please use the citation below. We note that although some datasets (e.g., Kristen Kennedy’s normed faces) include datasheets, for most sets all demographic information is encoded in the image filenames. Please note as well that the photos were taken in 2004 and have become somewhat dated.
