🧠 Upcoming Event: Declining Financial Capacity in Cognitive Aging and Dementia

Our lab is excited to be participating in the upcoming event, Declining Financial Capacity in Cognitive Aging and Dementia. We’ll be presenting a poster highlighting several recent developments from our team. First, the Dallas Lifespan Brain Study (DLBS) dataset is now publicly available on OpenNeuro, providing researchers around the world with access to this valuable longitudinal resource. Next, we’ll also be sharing the most recent update to the Scaffolding Theory of Aging and Cognition (STAC), published in April 2024, which builds on the original model by incorporating new findings on brain maintenance, compensation, and individual differences in aging trajectories. Lastly, we’ll be highlighting a recent publication by Dr. Joseph P. Hennesse, Dr. Tzu-Chen Lung, Dr. Denise C. Park, and Dr. Kristen M Kennedy that uses DLBS data to examine how age and amyloid burden interact to shape BOLD modulation in response to cognitive task difficulty. We’re looking forward to discussing these initiatives and engaging with others working at the intersection of cognitive aging and financial capacity.
