Biosketch

I graduated from UTD with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Neuroscience in the spring of 2013. As an undergraduate I volunteered as a research assistant in Dr. Ackerman’s Personality and Interpersonal Relationships Laboratory, studying the effects of narcissism and other personality traits in developing relationships. After graduating I worked for two years as an academic advisor at the University of North Texas before joining the Aging Mind Laboratory as a research assistant in the spring of 2015, where I help conduct research on the cognitive and neurological changes of healthy aging as part of the Dallas Lifespan Brain Study. Outside of work I enjoy weightlifting, live music, brewery tours, and exploring the DFW area.

Research Interests

I am interested in the brain networks involved in reasoning, attention, perception, and memory, and how our understanding of these networks might be applied in other contexts such as artificial intelligence. I am also interested in the cognitive and neurological effects of meditation, particularly in the context of mental disorders and how regular meditative practice might lead to better mental health outcomes.
