Dallas Twins Study

Thank you for your interest in the Dallas Texas Twins Study! We're glad that you and your twin are interested in this important research.

The Texas Twin Study (TTS) is part of a new line of research that Dr. Denise C. Park, the T. Boone Pickens Distinguished Chair in Brain Science, is beginning at the University of Texas at Dallas' Center for Brain Health. With funding from the National Institutes of Health and in affiliation with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and the University of Michigan, TTS seeks to investigate the role of genetics on brain function.

Both twins who enroll with be asked to do a number of fun and interesting tasks both at home and in our lab, so you both need to be living in the DFW area. Participants will be compensated $70 for their time. Here is a brief overview of what TTS participants will do:

  • Complete a screening survey to see if you and your twin qualify for the study
  • Complete a short series of questionnaires
  • Come to the Advanced Imaging Research Center at UTSW for a 2-hour appointment and do a set of cognitive tasks while being scanned in an MRI
