Dallas Lifespan Brain Study

Thank you for your interest in the Dallas Lifespan Brain Study!

The Dallas Lifespan Brain Study (DLBS) is part of a new line of research that Dr. Denise C. Park, the T. Boone Pickens Distinguished Chair in Brain Science, is beginning at The University of Texas at Dallas’ Center for Brain Health. With funding from the National Institute on Aging and in affiliation with The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, DLBS investigates how to maintain and promote a healthy mind throughout adulthood.

DLBS participants will be asked to do a number of fun and interesting tasks both at home and in our lab over the course of three visits. Participants will be compensated for their time after each visit. The total compensation for each of the three visits and the take-home tasks is $180. Here is a brief itinerary of what participants in DLBS will do:

  • Day 1: Complete 2 hours of computer based tasks with a researcher
  • Day 2: Complete 2 hours of paper and pencil tasks with a researcher
  • Day 3: Complete 3 hours of tasks including 1 ½ hours in the MRI scanner
  • Take-home: Complete 45 minutes to 2 hours of questionnaires about yourself
